Dr. Ray B. Lanier – President

Dr. Ray B. Lanier is a co-founder of Valor and has served as Director and President since April of 2004. Dr. Lanier has served in both the U.S. Army and Navy and is a Vietnam-era Veteran.
Prior to co-founding Valor, Dr. Lanier served as President of Medmark, a company that develops and operates outpatient clinics providing primary health care services to military Veterans, from 1997 to 2004.

From 1995 to 1997, Dr. Lanier served as President and CEO of Capitol Health Services, Inc., of Washington, D.C., which managed primary health care facilities serving 146,000 patients under three NAVCARE contracts, one PRIMUS contract and a contract with Fairfax County, Va., as well as two military emergency rooms.

From 1992 to 1995, Dr.Lanier served as CEO of General Practice Management Group, Inc., in New Orleans, La., which operated seven primary care clinics and a laboratory facility serving a predominately Medicaid population totaling 117,000 patients.

From 1982 to 1989, Dr. Lanier was Associate Chief of Nursing Services for the VA Medical Center in New Orleans. In 1989, he became Vice President of Patient Services of Providence Hospital in Mobile, Al., where he served until 1992.

In 1997, Dr. Lanier earned his bachelor of science in nursing from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Ga., his master’s of science in nursing in 1978 and a Ph.D. in nursing and business administration in 1980.

In 1980, Dr. Lanier was honorably discharged as a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps.
