Valor Improved Clinical Quality by Annual A1C Testing
Approximately 13% of the U.S. adult population has diabetes. Control of blood sugars significantly impacts healthcare costs and quality of life of many Americans.
A1C is a measure of diabetic control. In a study period from 2018 to 2020, Valor Healthcare implemented a program to improve A1C levels in their VA patient population compared to the national average. By systematically diagnosing diabetes and then following up with patient education, lab and interventions, Valor improved clinical outcomes to outperform the VA National Average.
